Traffic can get congested on the peninsula, leave yourself plenty of time to get there, park and walk to the venue!! Late guests will view the ceremony from the deck. We are getting married at the Monterey Beach House on the Municipal Beach on the other side of Municipal Wharf. The closest lots for the Wedding Venue are the Marina and the Depot Lot next to The Wharf and Municipal Beach. They are cashless. The Marina lot is payable via the Kiosks or the ParkMobile App. The Depot Lot (Zone #21007) is accessible via the ParkMobile app. You will need a free account, your zone number (listed on the signs around) and your license plate number to park. There will be no paper ticket. Rate: $1.50/hour, meters stop at 8p daily. Wedding + Reception is 6 hours in length. We suggest downloading the ParkMobile app prior to traveling, the reception can be spotty at the beach. We are having an adults only reception. We want our guests who are parents to relax and unwind and focus on having fun. There will be a few children participating in/attending the ceremony, but they will depart prior to the reception. Children are welcome at all the other events we are hosting throughout the weekend, outside of the reception.
Yes, we are serving a plated sit down dinner, as well as appetizers and desserts
For the wedding dinner, Yes! The venue will do all they can to accommodate you, please let one of us know your needs.
Yes. Directly following the ceremony there will be stationary and passed hors d'oeuvres. Cocktails/Drinks will be available until last call, 30 min prior to the end of the evening. Non-Alcoholic drinks available for the duration of the event.
Yes. There will be a full open bar. We aren't monsters. Don't make us use our liability insurance. Venue says no to shots, neats and rocks drinks. We trust them to use their discretion in this area. They will not serve anyone under 21 and reserve the right to request I.D.
Yes, we plan to do many of the traditional wedding elements along with some non-traditional fun elements. We can't wait to have a blast with you and hope you feel the same!
Monterey Regional (MRY). Rental Car optional if you fly in to MRY, you could get around via Uber/Lyft, but you may want one if you plan to sight see. Next closest is San Jose (SJC). You will need a rental car, its about a 75 min drive to Monterey. Please see the "Getting There" Tab for more info.
No. We are getting married on the sand of the Municipal beach on the other side of Fisherman's Wharf. We were advised by the venue that it is not a common practice for hotels in the area to reserve guest blocks. There are many options available for lodging and we have given suggestions under the "Getting There" tab, which also includes a link to hotels with discounted prices.
Well, we're going to look pretty formal. Beach Formal or Beach Festive is our request. This suggests an elegant beach wedding. This is your chance to get fancy if you are feeling it. Our ceremony is taking place on the beach, but the reception is indoors with outdoor access throughout the evening. You might want a pair of flats or sandals for the beach/dancing parts or you can go barefoot/toes in the sand. You can also expect a beach breeze (use those firm hold hair products y'all). It is cool in Monterey. Sometimes there is fog. September weather is 70's in the day, 50's at night. You will want to bring some kind of shawl, sweater, suit jacket or other such covering with you. The rule in CA is warm in the sun, cool in the shade and at night. Layers are helpful. There will be heat lamps on the deck and fire pits outside during the reception to assist us with staying warm.
No, Thank you. Only because we have to figure out how to get it home in our luggage. A card is fine to bring. We also have a registry set up on this site that will ship directly to our home. You can also contact us for our address if you would like to ship us something outside of this. We promise not to open any registry gifts until after the wedding. We would LOVE for you to take photos if your heart is called to. This time is going to fly by and the photos we get will be our cherished memories. Please be respectful of the photographers and give them priority. All of your photos will arrive long before the professional shots and we cannot wait to see what you capture. There is no hash tag, but here is a link to a Google Photos album that you can add all your photos to. https://photos.app.goo.gl/EwQURApVxGjV4y7R8
Monterey in September has a daily average of 70 for the high and 54 for the low. CA in general is a Mediterranean climate, so it's helpful to have something to put on in case of cold, or take off in case of warm sun. Monterey also has its share of fog. We are going during their sunniest month, but you never know how it will be and it's best to have layers and options.
