Back in 2015, neither Shadeh nor Reza were looking for anything serious. They were both twenty, living life, and doing what most twenty-somethings did at the time: swiping right without a second thought. They matched on Tinder — which, back then, still felt like uncharted territory. Shadeh, having seen one too many crime documentaries, was convinced meeting a stranger from an app was how people got murdered… so she planned on never actually meeting Reza. But the universe had other ideas. On October 4th, as fate would dramatically have it, Shadeh was walking out of Ralphs and Reza was walking in. They locked eyes, instantly recognizing each other from their tiny Tinder profile photos — except now in full HD. At the exact same moment, they both blurted out, “Don’t I know you??” with the kind of coy smile that rom-com directors dream of. They ended up talking for hours that night, watching the sun set over the Palos Verdes cliffs, completely unaware that this “totally random encounter” was the beginning of forever. Ten years later, they’re still just as inseparable. They’ve traveled the world, blended families, celebrated big wins, supported each other through the tough chapters, built a home in West Hollywood, and adopted their sweet short-haired border collie, Lady. Their love is constantly growing, evolving, and deepening (because if it’s not growing, it’s dying — and these two are very much alive). They’ve always believed they’re a team, each one trying to outdo the other in kindness, love, and support. Thank you for being part of their journey.
