It was love at first site. Ben was playing a bird board game with his best friend, Cole, at Cole's family holiday event on July 2, 2022 and Heather showed up sweating from working. She gave Cole a hug and saw he had a handsome friend sitting with him. Heather swooned Ben's eyes and shaggy blonde hair. Heather ran home to grab a swimming suit hoping to have a chance to talk to Ben. Instead, she showed up, and Lacey's nana was telling Heather all about how Ben was a recent graduate of WestPoint. All that Heather noticed was how Ben couldn't take his eyes off of her either. Cole and Ben then ran out the door. Heather asked her daughter, Lacey, what she thought of that guy, Ben, who had played in the pool with her earlier at her nana's house. Lacey stated that he was super nice. So, Heather texted Cole to ask if his friend was single. The next day, Ben invited Heather to meet his siblings and go to The Gaylord. They had an amazing friendly date. They continued to date long distance while Ben was stationed in Georgia, then El Paso, and deployed to Poland. Heather and Lacey moved in with Ben to their now home in El Paso March of 2024. Ben asked Heather to marry him on December 21st, 24 while skiing in the mountains while on a little family vacation. It was beautiful and everything Heather could ever have dreamed of!
