On a rainy evening on April 3, 2022, Sofia and Seungwon met for their first date at a Korean restaurant in New York called Bangia. The very first thing they said to each other was, “Oh! You look better in person!” 😂 Seven hours of Seungwon patiently listening to Sofia yap later, the restaurant was closing. 😭🤣 From the very beginning of their relationship, Seungwon made his intentions clear: “I would like to get married and have children as soon as possible.” The rest simply depended on his completing his PhD and finding a job. 🤓 Fast forward four years after they first met, and true to his usual fashion, Seungwon casually announced from their kitchen that he was finishing his PhD, in the process of securing a job, and that they should get married the following year. 🥸 On this same special date - the anniversary of when we first met (which also happens to be our dog Haha’s ‘Gotcha Day’!) - we warmly invite you to celebrate our wedding with us. 2022년 4월 3일, 소피아와 승원은 뉴욕의 한 한식당 ‘반지하(Bangia)’에서 비 오는 저녁, 첫 데이트를 했습니다. 서로를 처음 본 순간, 두 사람이 가장 먼저 건넨 말은 “어! 실제로 보니까 더 멋지네요!”였습니다. 😂 그리고 승원이 소피아의 끊임없는 수다를 무려 7시간 동안 들어준 끝에, 어느새 식당은 문을 닫을 시간이 되었습니다. 😭🤣 연애를 시작한 처음부터 승원은 자신의 마음을 분명히 했습니다. “저는 가능한 한 빨리 결혼해서 아이를 갖고 싶어요.” 그 이후의 계획은 의외로 단순했습니다. 박사 과정을 마치고 직장을 구하는 것만 남아 있었으니까요. 🤓 그리고 처음 만난 지 4년이 지난 어느 날, 승원은 늘 그랬듯 아주 태연하게 부엌에서 이렇게 말했습니다. “나 이제 박사 졸업도 하고, 직장도 알아보고 있으니까… 우리 내년에 결혼하자.” 🥸 저희가 처음 만난 날이자 모든 이야기가 시작된 4월 3일, 그리고 우연히도 저희 강아지 하하(Haha)의 ‘가족이 된 날(Gotcha Day)’이기도 한 이날에 여러분을 저희의 결혼식에 초대하게 되어 진심으로 기쁩니다. 많은 고민 끝에 모시게 된 이 자리인 만큼, 이 초대장을 받으신 여러분은 저희에게 진심으로 소중하고 특별한 분들이라는 것을 꼭 알아주셨으면 합니다. 🥰 처음 만난 그날로부터 정확히 5년이 되는 날, 저희는 부부로서 새로운 시작을 하려 합니다. 저희의 ‘1일’이었던 날이 이제 새로운 가족의 ‘첫날’이 되는 순간을 함께 축복해 주시고 지켜봐 주신다면 더없이 큰 기쁨이겠습니다. 😇🙏🏼💖
