Seth and Raquel met July 11, 2018, at Lake Whitney Ranch in Texas. Raquel, who had never visited Texas before, was spontaneously invited by a Pastor to a Seventh-Day Adventist young adult summer camp week that started in two weeks! With no summer plans for those days, she bought a flight to Texas and prayed, and trusted God had something special in store for her. Seth had been working all summer long at Lake Whitney Ranch as a boat driver and lifeguard. He was not expecting to meet his future wife that week. As time passed by, they talked and saw each other's passion for Christ. Seth admired the way Raquel worshipped each evening while Raquel admired the way Seth participated in a Christian play and led worship. By the end of the week, they liked each other and decided to stay in touch. After a couple of months of talking, Seth took Raquel on their first official date Labor Day weekend of September 2018 when he flew to Virginia to visit her and her family. They dated long distance between Nebraska, Texas, and Virginia with the support of both of their families for 3 years. Throughout those years, Seth and Raquel saw God open doors for them to visit each other almost every month. After graduating college, Raquel and Seth both worked their last summer before starting full time jobs at the summer camp they met. Seth moved to Virginia and started his full-time job in August 2021. On a Labor Day weekend just like the one where they had their first date 3 years ago, Seth secretly bought Raquel's dream custom engagement ring. After months of planning, Seth proposed to Raquel November 21, 2021, on his birthday! In front of friends and family, he asked Raquel to spend forever with him and she said yes!
