Girl’s brunch and guy’s wine day ended in one location – El Rey. This taco and margarita joint is where Seth and Kiersten first met. After effectively avoiding talking to each other most of the night, they eventually locked eyes, Seth took the seat next to Kiersten, and this moment became the beginning of their connection.

It’s St. Patrick’s Day weekend and Seth was back in town visiting his friend, Josh. The crew was back to its usual shenanigans and getting ready to ditch work early and head out to celebrate the day. Seth chose a seat next to Kiersten (of course) and again, they avoided chatting until later in day. That initial spark was still there though, and they hit it off once again.

Seth had since moved to Baltimore and was ready to show off his new apartment and city to his friends. He invited everyone up to the Preakness horse race, including Kiersten (of course), but she was already one step ahead and had made plans with other friends to go. The entire group met up and spent the day together though, because she fully intended on seeing him that day. After the race Seth tried to impress Kiersten with his margarita making skills and promised to cook her anything she wants if she comes back to visit. Despite cutting himself, it worked, and Seth has a scar to remember the day forever by.

Before Seth and Kiersten have their first official date. Seth scoped out a perfect spot on the water, Kiersten travelled all the way to Baltimore yet again, and the two spent the evening drinking wine, playing pool and enjoying the Baltimore views from a rooftop terrace.

Seth and Kiersten spend nearly every weekend visiting each other in Baltimore and Arlington. Eventually Seth finally asked Kiersten to be his girlfriend, and Kiersten got a new job that just “happens” to be based in Baltimore. She told her coworkers she’s a commuter girlfriend whenever she took the train up.

Seth got a new job in Virginia and the pair pack themselves like sardines into Kiersten’s 1 bedroom apartment. They don’t care about how little space they have or how many things had to be thrown away or into storage, because they no longer need to travel 1-2 hours to see each other. The tiny apartment was short lived, however, as the lease was up and it was time to find their first real place together!

Seth and Kiersten moved to Falls Church in the cutest townhouse and neighborhood. They loved how walkable all of their favorite foods, beers, and stores were. They began to establish new routines and fell into a perfect rhythm with each other. Seth and Kiersten travelled together, spent time with their friends, and fell further in love.

Seth and Kiersten decided to buy a home together! The process was daunting but went smoother than either had expected. After a short search, they settled on a home in Alexandria. It needed a little work, but they had time and excitement on their side. By July of 2025 the renovations were done and Seth and Kiersten moved in. They loved this neighborhood even more than the last and continue to find new coffee shops, restaurants and bars to try.

Seth popped the question on a sailboat! Cool as a cucumber, Kiersten had no idea what Seth had been cooking up on their latest trip. Even as they walked up to their private charter, Kiersten had thought this was the surprise. Thankfully, Seth did not drop the ring in the water, and Kiersten of course said yes!

It’s hard to capture all that has happened in the past few years in just a few short words. Seth and Kiersten have had so many great memories together and look forward to continuing building so many new ones. Their friends and family have of course been such an integral part of their journey and they cannot wait to celebrate with you!
