Recommended airport = SFO

We highly recommend flying into San Francisco International Airport (SFO) for the easiest and most convenient travel experience. While San Jose (SJC) and Oakland (OAK) are also options, travel time from these airports is typically longer — about one hour or more depending on traffic. Flying into SFO will help keep your arrival smoother and your time in the city more enjoyable.

Choosing a hotel

If you choose not to stay at Hotel Del Sol, we still highly recommend reserving a hotel in the Marina District, ideally on/near Lombard Street. While distances may look short on a map, travel time in San Francisco can be surprisingly deceptive. Staying in the Marina will keep you within easy walking distance or a quick cab ride of all wedding activities, making your weekend much more relaxed and convenient. ~ If you choose to stay outside the city, please keep in mind: - Parking: Parking in the Marina is extremely limited, with very few parking lots available. - Transportation costs: Uber and Lyft rides increase significantly the farther you stay from the Marina. - Traffic: San Francisco traffic can become very heavy, especially on weekends, which could lead to unexpected delays (and we definitely don’t want anyone to be late to the wedding!) For the smoothest and most enjoyable experience, the Marina District is truly the best home base for the weekend.

Travel Note

Should you rent a car?

Most of our events will be in / around the Marina neighborhood and Presidio. The events will not necessarily be walkable, but they will be very short uber/lyft rides. If you are comfortable paying for uber to/from the airport (30-45 mins) + multiple short rides during your stay, then you don't need to rent a car.
