Maid of Honor
Serwaa and I are family! We go way back! We both grew up in the same compound house at Bantama, Kumasi. We attended the same (BEST!!!) elementary/middle and junior high school (Mmofraturo girl's Boarding School) together and lived in the same dormitory. It is because of Serwaa that I went to this great school. My parents saw how intelligent Serwaa was growing up, wanted me to be like her, and got me enrolled there. I call Serwaa "MOM" because she's more than a mom to me and has been an amazing godmother to my child! I am excited to witness this union and wish these two a lifetime of love, happiness, and God’s blessings!

My dearest cousin. I’m not sure where to start. You’ve been a big sister to me since birth. Although, I don’t have the clearest recollection of my infancy, I remember you carrying and holding me like a second mom. Your humor and care is unmatched. You’ve been a confidente since I can remember and I still remember and appreciate when you got me my first iPhone in high school (lool). I remember those days when we would talk for hours, discussing colors and outfits for our future weddings, not realizing how quickly this would come for you. I’m so excited and wish you nothing but the absolute best in this next phase of your life. I just know Mrs. is going to look AMAZING on you!

I met Akosua Serwaah in Buffalo, NY, Fall semester 2015, when Nancy took me to their apartment before she dropped me off at home. Would you believe Serwaah asked me and actually made me fry eggs for her that very day? Well believe it because she asked and I did. That’s when I realized this girl would be my friend forever. Funny enough when I met her, she was quiet and reserved. But make no mistake, this girl has the loudest laugh I’ve ever heard (rolling my eyes). Akosua is dear to my heart, even from the very first day we met. She’s the baby of our Buffalo family and we’re all very protective of her. I can’t tell you how excited I am for this moment right here. I’ve cheered her on during nursing school, when she became a “working class lady” (inside joke haha) and now, I get to be there to hand her off to her knight in shining armor. To the groom, please continue to show her romantic gestures such as eating banku & okra together (another inside joke)! Wishing you both the happiness of a lifetime! Much love, Sandra

Just like love at first sight, it was sisters at first sight! It all started when I accepted a travel contract at Berkeley Medical Center back in February, and Serwaah was my preceptor for a night, because one night of orientation is all you get as a traveler. We talked the whole night like we’ve known each other for years, we’ve been inseparable since then. Serwaah made working at Berkeley effortlessly easy and she decided to name me Naa Kweley haha, funny enough I like it because the family calls me that now. It’s been endless laughter and jokes since I started working there in February, introduced me to her amazing family and I am so thankful to God that we crossed paths. So happy for this new journey that God has placed you and uncle Barg on, I wish you both so much happiness, Grace and favor. Just know I’ve got your back and love you always!

If there’s a day for me to be happy, then it’s definitely today that I’m seeing you getting married. In fact, it’s a mixed feeling, from one end I’m happy you are getting married, on the other end, I’m thinking of how I’m going to live in the house without you Missy. I have my tissues ready and the tears are going to flow. I'm thrilled to see you married but hate to see you go. Now that you are going, I’m supposed to cook and wash dishes alone, a responsibility which was shared between us. Now someone’s Mrs, you have been a great sister to me which is why I am demanding your partner to treat you like the queen.Marriage is indeed a blessing so I pray that may this marriage bring lots of happiness and blessings. May you be an emblem of joy and happiness to your new family just like the way you make us happy. At some point, it’s full of ups and downs and you will be sharing them with your husband not friends. It’s a great pleasure seeing you marrying the man you love so much. You two look perfect and madly in love with each other.Sweet sis, if I should give you money or any parcel on this special day, it will finish so I decided to give you a very special gift which will be very useful as you journey on with this marriage. My gift for you today is Jesus Christ, just allow Him to lead you on in every step you and your husband take. Let Him be your first point of call in every situation you encounter and your marriage life will be glorious.

Best Man
Bargarine and I have known each other since 2009. We met in a group with other students who had traveled to Ukraine from Ghana to pursue courses in Medicine and Engineering. From the very first day, I could see in him a very gentle and respectful guy; and apparently handsome too. The good news is that Serwaa is the ultimate winner, and she is having him all to herself for the rest of their lives. We developed such a respect and bond during our stay in Ukraine, so it is not surprising that he has always called and referred to me as "Bra". I in return, also called him Bra Yaw, even though I am the senior between us two. He was someone I could call upon anytime for any kind of help or support and I was sure his response would be positive. We spent many more beautiful years together in Ukraine, until I graduated and left for Ghana in 2015. We remained in touch and communicated regularly. In 2019, I was excited when Bargarine called to inform me he was moving to the states where I had been living two years prior. I quickly made arrangements to see him and on December 26th, 2019, we hanged out in Woodbridge.Today we have gathered here in honor of my dear friend and his wife. all I ask is for God's continued blessings upon their lives, a happy home overflowing with love, success, plenty kids. To you Bra Yaw, I say you are welcome to the table of men.

I’ve known Nana Yaw for some time now and I honestly think he’s a real and down-to-earth person that’s how come we just got along from the beginning. He has become more of a brother than a friend to me. I just want him to know that he has my full support and I wish him and Serwaa my sister all the best in this journey they are about to embark on. I pray for more life, understanding, happiness, more love, and a lot of babies in their marriage.

Our paths met in Ukraine and our relationship unfolded as strangers to roommates to school father and now brothers. Dovha 39, the place where he introduced me to manka, pepper, chicken and eggs. He always told me when advising that “ Nero, leave me ooh for I don’t take my own advice “. After ukraine, we are still in touch and I am proud to be part of his groomsmen. Bargarine has a motherly heart and is resilient . Am glad our paths met . Congratulations to you “Gaddafi”, wishing you all the best in this journey.

It is eminent that I start you love birds with 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. This scripture establishes the true definition of love. I encourage you to always remember these key terms, love is PATIENT, it does not BOAST, it is not ARROGANT, it does not insist on its own way, it is not RESENTFUL, and it does not rejoice at WRONGDOING but rejoices with the TRUTH. More so, always remember that marriage is a journey and with it comes good times and bad times. Cherish the bad times and always encourage the good times. I say this because it is the bad times that will teach you both maturity and take you into higher places. Do not let those times consume you but rather consume those times to your advantage. Challenges are but schooling edifice for growth. Make every moment count and never forget to seek the face of the almighty when all is lost. My prayers are with you and I know this journey will be a fine one for you both. Happy marriage to you all and we love you.
