Two years ago, in September, they both attended a mutual friends wedding reception in Santa Maria. They are both shy - so they didn't talk much that night, even though they both wanted to. Jessica stayed in town that weekend and joined a group of mutual friends' for a fantasy football draft party, which gave them another chance to finally talk one on one. They knew they instantly hit it off when they started arguing over music and laughed about how small her hands were - her "whooper JR" hands. Jordan kicked himself for not getting her number, but he didn't let that stop him. They communicated on social media, until Jordan finally gave her his number. Shortly after, Jessica took a trip to Australia, where they talked everyday all day - even with international phone charges. A $300 phone bill later and the rest is history...

On May 4th (May the Fourth Be With Them), Jessica drove down to the coast to take a certification test for work. Jordan thought this would be the perfect time to plan a perfect proposal, which would be the perfect disguise as a "celebratory surprise". Jessica passed her test and Jordan told her to get ready to go have a drink and watch the sunset, something Jessica had been begging Jordan to see. Jordan had the best man, Cheo and groomsman/bridesmaid, James and Crystal Haskins setup a romantic picnic on a cliff overlooking the beach and sunset. The setup crew hid behind a tree and photographed the big surprise. Jordan got down on one knee and her answer was YES!!!
