Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Due to the planning of logistics, please RSVP by September 1st

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Attire is game-casual! Note From The Groom: NO OTHER NHL TEAM CLOTHING/ HATS/ GEAR ALLOWED. YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED IF YOU ARE WEARING OR HIDING RANGERS, CAPITALS, TAMPA OR ANY OTHER TEAM LOGOS. NO EXCEPTIONS. IT WILL BE REMOVED AND BURNED IMMEDIATELY. YOU WILL BE KICKED OUT ONCE DISCOVERED. ITEMS WILL BE CONFISCATED AND USED AS TOILET PAPER.

Question

Will we actually be on the ice?

Answer

Because apparently a normal venue wasn't dramatic enough, the bride and groom will be exchanging their vows on the ice. However, the guests will be seated comfortably in the stadium seats.

Question

Can I bring a sign?

Answer

We would love you to bring a sign to support the bride and groom! UBS Arena welcomes guests bringing small signs, banners, and posters inside the building to show fan support during events. The following guidelines relate to these items: • Item may not be larger than 11” x 17” in size • Item may not be attached to a stick/pole • Item may not obstruct any sponsors/advertiser’s signage • Item may not be hung, attached, or displayed on any part of the building • Item may not contain or display obscene/offensive language and/or pictures, as determined by UBS Arena management • Items may not contain any website or advertising materials.

Question

Will the ceremony happen during the game?

Answer

No--the ceremony will occur well before the arena doors open for the game. The ceremony will begin at 1:30pm, followed by a reception. The arena doors open at 6:00pm, and the game begins at 7:30pm.

Question

Will it be cold in the arena?

Answer

We're getting married on a giant sheet of ice. So… probably. Bring a jacket.

Question

Can I bring a bag into the arena?

Answer

Guests are welcome to bring bags no larger than 12” x 12” x 6”. All bags are subject to x-ray or visual screening depending on size. All other bags larger than the requirement and others will not be allowed in the arena.

Question

Where will we be seated during the game?

Answer

Pitch book suites have been reserved for the wedding guests. We will have light refreshments and snacks available in the suite for you to enjoy during the game. But we think you'll still be full from dinner!

Question

Do I have to be an Islanders fan to attend?

Answer

No, but you have to pretend to be for the entire day. We appreciate your commitment to the marriage.

Question

What if I don't love hockey?

Answer

Don't worry. Just chant "LET'S GO ISLANDERS!" when everyone else does. If someone starts talking about icing, offsides, or a power play, nod confidently and change the subject.

Question

What's the most important thing to remember?

Answer

RSVP....now! Wear Islanders gear if you have it. Cheer loudly. And most importantly…Don't be a Rangers fan.

Question

What if I can't be there early and can only attend the game?

Answer

No penalty! If you can only join us for the game, please RSVP accordingly and we will transfer a ticket to you so that you can enter the arena on your own, when doors open to the public.

Question

Can I leave my stuff on the bus?

Answer

That’s a major penalty. 🏒 The bus dropping you off may not be the same bus picking us up after the wedding, so when you step off, clear the bench — phones, purses, jackets, shoes… take it all.
