Question

First things first - How do I get there?

Answer

To travel to Lebanon, all international flights arrive at Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY). Most journeys will include one or two layovers, often through major international airports in Europe or the region. We suggest flights with a minimum two-hour layover to allow ample time for international connections—we wouldn’t want you to miss a flight!

Question

How do I get from the airport to Batroun?

Answer

Guests staying at San Stephano Resort will be contacted directly by the resort to arrange airport transportation, ensuring a seamless and stress-free arrival. For those staying at an Airbnb or another location, we recommend the Allo Taxi or Bob Taxi apps—both trusted and reliable options for getting around with ease. If you prefer a more personalized experience, a private chauffeur service can be arranged by contacting Danny Nizar via WhatsApp at +961 70 234 169. Danny speaks English, Spanish, and Arabic and will be happy to assist you. We are so excited to welcome you to Batroun and can’t wait to celebrate this unforgettable wedding weekend together. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions—we want your arrival to be as smooth and beautiful as the celebration itself.

Question

Can I rent a car?

Answer

Renting a car is entirely optional. For a more relaxed and seamless experience, we suggest using taxis or private transportation, letting someone familiar with the rhythm of Lebanon’s roads take the lead. The Allo Taxi app is our preferred option and accepts both credit cards and cash, while Uber operates on a cash-only basis. Should you choose to rent a car, we would be happy to connect you with one of our trusted local providers—just let us know.

Question

How does mobile internet work in Lebanon?

Answer

We highly recommend downloading Simly, a global eSIM provider, for the easiest and most seamless way to stay connected during your stay. Please be sure to download the app and purchase your plan before arriving in Lebanon, so you’re connected the moment you land.

Question

What currency should I bring to Lebanon?

Answer

We recommend bringing US Dollars, as it is the widely accepted currency in the country, including hotels, restaurants, and transportation services. Having cash on hand will make payments easier and more convenient during your stay.

Question

Which messaging app should I use during the trip?

Answer

We recommend downloading WhatsApp prior to your arrival, as it will be our primary channel for sharing real-time updates, event details, schedules, and important information throughout the wedding celebrations.

Question

Is it safe to drink tap water in Lebanon?

Answer

For your comfort and well-being, we recommend drinking bottled water during your stay. Water consumption practices in Lebanon may differ from what you are used to, and choosing bottled water is the best way to prevent any discomfort and ensure a pleasant experience.

Question

What food delivery apps can I use in Lebanon?

Answer

Toters is the most popular and reliable food delivery app in Lebanon, offering restaurants, cafés, groceries, and more. That said, we always encourage you to take a walk and discover new places — experiences and memories are always worth more.

Question

What type of electrical outlets are used in Lebanon?

Answer

Lebanon operates on 230V power and commonly uses Type C, D, and G electrical outlets. We recommend bringing a universal travel adapter to ensure your devices can be used comfortably throughout your stay. Please note that electronics not compatible with 230V may require a voltage converter, as items designed solely for lower voltage may not function properly.

Question

What language is commonly spoken?

Answer

Lebanon is multilingual. Arabic, French, and English flow side by side, making communication seamless throughout your stay. From restaurants to hotels and everywhere in between, English is widely spoken—so navigating your trip will feel natural and easy.

Question

Do I need a visa to visit Lebanon?

Answer

No visa is required—Lebanon believes in effortless arrivals. A valid passport is all you need; the rest will unfold naturally. Don't forget to bring your appetite and your best dabke moves.

Question

What should I pack to wear?

Answer

Dress codes for each event will be outlined on the Events page. For your time in Batroun, keep in mind it is a seaside town where old stone streets meet beachside living. Summer in Lebanon is warm and humid, so daytime calls for breathable fabrics, beachwear, light layers, sandals, or sneakers made for strolling. Evenings, however, take on a more polished tone—especially if you plan to venture into Beirut. Gentlemen may opt for tailored slacks, a button-down shirt, and loafers or refined sneakers, while ladies often choose dresses, coordinated sets, and heels. Should you have any questions or need guidance, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re happy to help.

Question

What are the cultural norms in Lebanon?

Answer

Lebanon is renowned for its exceptional hospitality and a generosity that often surprises first-time visitors. When entering a space, a warm smile and a simple “Marhaba” go a long way. When visiting highly touristic areas such as the old souks of Byblos—one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited ports, dating back to 7000 BCE—you’ll encounter an array of shops offering local trinkets and souvenirs. Prices may occasionally lean higher for visitors, so a gentle negotiation is both customary and expected. Approach it with charm and good humor, and more often than not, you’ll find your way to a fair price. Tipping in Lebanon is simple and intuitive. Small tips are appreciated and guided by the quality of service. At cafés or casual spots, rounding up or leaving a little extra is customary. With prices generally accessible, generosity comes naturally—no strict rules, just good judgment and goodwill.

Question

Need help along the way?

Answer

To ensure a seamless and reassuring experience, we will be creating a dedicated WhatsApp group for guests traveling from abroad. This space will serve as a direct line for guidance, assistance, and any questions that may arise along the way. For this reason, we kindly ask that you have the app downloaded in advance—so support is always just a message away.
