Love Story Told by Her

Always order an extra burger

We met on a school sponsored trip in college. I was a freshmen, and he was a junior. One of our first interactions I gave him a McDonalds hamburger I had picked up on the way back to camp. Food has always been the way to Christian's heart. The next time I saw him was several weeks later outside of the dorms. I was playing fetch with a shelter dog, in true OBU fashion. Christian was walking back to his room after skipping class when he saw me. He decided to set up a couple hammocks so he could hang out with me. We ended up exchanging information (But only so I could return his hammock to him...right?) and we talked non-stop for the next few weeks. We went to the pumpkin patch, had lunch dates, and many more hammock talks. October 15, 2016 Kappa Chi won tiger tunes and Christian and I shared a kiss for the first time that night. It was the worst kiss I've ever had but I guess I liked him because I stuck around. (The kisses have gotten much better since then). October 15, 2016 is also the date we are so lucky to call our anniversary. Since then we have loved, encouraged, and supported each other through life's ups and downs. July 4, 2021 Christian asked the question "Will you marry me?" and promised to make me mimosas for the rest of my life. Of course with a proposal like that I had to accept! Now I am so blessed to be able to love Thomas Christian Mayho as I grow old and continue to add on to our always growing love story.

Love Story Told by Him

Good things come from skipping class

We first met during FOOT Camp Ren's freshman year. I was one of the camp counselors. Our first interaction was when she and her friend came back from McDonalds and they had an extra hamburger. Out of all the poor hungry souls at that camp, she gave the extra burger to me (heart eyes). Fast forward 4 weeks: It was a nice day outside, and you can't waste a nice day just sitting in class, so I ditched (not sorry mom). On my way back to my dorm room, guess who I see? This girl (Ren) was playing fetch with a shelter dog. Being that I had tons of time to kill (cause I skipped class) I set up a hammock and we sat and "chilled", as the young kids say. Me being ME, I almost forgot I had soccer practice that day, so I had to sprint back to my room to get ready. Acting like I had no time at all to take down the hammock, I gave Ren my number so I could grab it after practice. That next morning, I called her at 8am. I asked her if she wanted to go to a pumpkin patch and, surprisingly, she said yes. Then I mentioned we are leaving in 20 minutes, and like the spontaneous girl she is she said "okay...? Ill be ready". We get to the pumpkin patch and she tells me about her life story and the significant others before me who had goat fetishes. At this point, I should've cut and ran but I ignored my better judgement. The following weekend, was the national championship of the OBU Tiger Tunes event. After dazzling the crowd with my amazing train robbing skillz, the judges deemed Kappa Chi National Champions of OBU Tiger Tunes. Riding the high of winning this prestigious award, Ren and I decide to go celebrate. That night we shared our first kiss (she was bad, not me, no matter what she says). After that she kinda just stayed around.(Heart Emoji)
