We met at Ft. Benning while Dale was at a training school. Every single day we got dinner together until he had to leave. Once he left for Arizona, we did not get to see each other for three months. As soon as we saw each other again, we said “I love you” for the first time.
After we got married, we started our house search, traveled, got a puppy, and a car! Our biggest adventure yet has been the house. We had very different wants for a house. Dale wanted an acre and I wanted a newer house. So in August, we decided we would build our house from the ground up. We got to work and found an acre of land for Dale and matched it with the floor plan that I liked. Our first house was completed in February and we are in love with our new life near the beach in North Carolina.
Due to covid, having a wedding with all the people we loved last summer seemed impossible. Therefore, we felt that we should wait it out to host a large party. But if you know us, then you know we are not patient people (we’re working on it haha). That being said, we tied the knot on May 12, 2020 in North Carolina. It’s almost a year later and we want our friends and family to be able to celebrate our marriage. We have found a large space that we can safely celebrate. We are so excited to renew our vows and celebrate our first 2 years of married life with you!
Unfortunately we have had to postpone our wedding date due to a surgery. We spent a lot of time and money planning the perfect event but we decided focusing on Dale’s six month recovery would be best. Therefore, we are being patient and waiting to celebrate next year. We PROMISE it will be worth the wait. We have added a few more things to make this event even more special. We will be renewing our vows after two whole years of marriage which means there is even more to celebrate. Love is patient and so are we.
