In August 2018, Tyrell and Serena lived in the same apartment building. One warm and sunny afternoon they were both at the swimming pool. Once Serena noticed that Tyrell was swimming alone, she took out her phone and began to record him. She sent the video to her girlfriends and said that there was a handsome gentleman that lived in her apartment building. As Serena pretended to drown in the pool to get Tyrell’s attention he paid her no mind. As she left the pool, Tyrell chased Serena to the elevator before she got in and asked her for her phone number. When Serena found out the age difference of 12 years she decided at first that they were NOT a match. After a little persuasion Serena gave Tyrell her phone number. About a month or two of phone tag Serena and Tyrell never connected. However Tyrell never gave up! Once they had their first lunch date at Panera Bread it was on from there. During their three-year courtship Tyrell has accomplished many goals of graduating from culinary art school as well as starting his own catering business. Serena has stood by his side rooting him on! On July 2, 2021 in Cancun Mexico Tyrell decided to propose to Serena at a beautiful restaurant on the beach. Tyrell describes Serena as a person that is easy to love. Serena describes their relationship as a slumber party that you never would want to end. Cheers to the happy couple.
