Traverse City has some beautiful wineries that we highly recommend checking out!!! Take a drive down Old Mission Peninsula and try a few of the 11 gorgeous wineries! There are so many amazing ones to choose from but our two favorites are Mari Vineyards and Chateau Chantal. We hope you check them out and let us know your favorite!
At some point in your stay in Traverse City you will probably need to grab a bite to eat, here is a list of some of our favorites! * Breakfast: Bubbas Bagels * Lunch: Fogarellis!!! (amazinggg deli with a large list of sandwich options, located in a market). The Little Fleet! (cute collection of food trucks that have a variety of food options with outside seating, very close to the Delamar) * Dinner: The Tasting Room (we love their shrimp cocktail and pizza), Trattoria Stella (a more expensive option with incredible farm to table food, be sure to make a reservation in advance, it fills up quickly!)
If you’re looking for a day trip, Sleeping Bear Dunes is a 30 minute drive from Traverse City and has beautiful views of Lake Michigan. Here are some things to check out there: * The Dune Climb: make the 110 foot climb up the big dune leading to miles of sand to explore. Bring lots of water, the sand gets hot! (6748 S Dune Hwy) * Beautiful hiking trails!! The link below gives information on the different trails and what they have to offer. Our favorite is Empire Bluffs which has a stunning view of the lake and the dunes. * Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive: If you want to stay in the car and still see the beauty of Sleeping Bear, this 7.5 mile drive is for you. There are many points to stop and take in the crystal-clear waters of Lake Michigan from the top of a towering 450ft sand dune. * Downtown Glen Arbor: If you need a bite to eat while near sleeping bear, check out the restaurants in Glen Arbor or stop by the original Cherry Republic
