To help us with our planning, please rsvp to our wedding as soon as you can. However, the deadline is the 6th of August. If we don’t receive your response by this date, we will have to mark you as ‘unable to attend’ #sad #wewillmissu. We need to provide the venue and countless vendors with a total guest count in a timely manner, we hope you understand, we made sure to give you as much time as we could!<3
Due to our guest count being very close to the venues maximum capacity, we can only accommodate guests who are formally invited. If you’ve received a plus one, they would have been specifically addressed on your invitation. Thank you for understanding!
A little bit of both! The ceremony will take place outside - expect to get some sun while we walk down the aisle. The cocktail hour will take place outside - with some shade provided by the wagon shed we’re having it under. Dinner, dessert, and dancing will mostly take place inside, but outside is still accessible if you need some air! Ladies, please be mindful of your choice in heels if you choose to wear them. Tall, skinny heels will get stuck in the ground when walking on grass, and they will get stuck between the wooden floor slats in the barn. Kitten heels and chunky/block heels are your safest option if you would like to wear a heeled shoe. Our wedding is 2 days before the first day of autumn, so expect some sun (hopefully) and heat during the day, and remember to stay hydrated, especially between drinks(;
We’re excited to get dressed up on our special day, and we want you to feel the same way! If you’re wearing a dress, cocktail attire traditionally means any nice dress that falls below the knees, while formal is really any nice dress either midi length, or ankle/floor length. We understand it will most likely be quite hot during the day, but potentially a little chill at night, so please wear what you feel you’ll be cute and comfortable in. Jumpsuits are absolutely okay if you’re not one to wear dresses as well! Ladies, please be mindful in your choice of heels. Block heels and kitten heels won’t be an issue, but any tall, skinny, stiletto heels could sink into the ground when walking through grass. There are some gaps in the wooden slats of the barn floor as well. If you’re wearing a suit, the tie is optional, feel free to wear one or not, whatever you’re more comfortable with(:
Our ceremony starts promptly at 4 o’clock in the afternoon. We’re asking guests to arrive no later than 3:45pm, so you have time to settle before the proceedings. Be timely like Matti…not like Serena :P
We’ve hired a wonderful photographer to capture all of the amazing moments on our day. We do ask you to keep your phones away only during the ceremony. We’d love for you to be fully engaged in the moment we have both been looking forward to for many years. After the ceremony is finished, feel free to take as many photos and videos as you’d like!
Yes, there is a parking lot specifically for our venue on site, and it is pretty spacious! Consider carpooling with friends or family if you’re able to. If you live close by, consider Uber or Lyft as well, especially if you know you’ll be having a few drinks. If you’re staying at one of the two hotels we’re partnered with for the night, you shouldn’t have to worry about driving or Ubering, as shuttles will be available for you to safely arrive and depart our venue. Please be mindful of the shuttle run times…as they only make a limited number of trips!
Yes we will be covering all beer, seltzer, wine, and liquor expenses! Due to specific Pennsylvania wedding liquor laws, all liquor drinks are required to have a mixer added by the bartender. Shots, neat drinks, on the rocks and doubles are not allowed at any point during our wedding. #moresad …There will be plenty of drink options for you, and we hope you understand that these are specific Pennsylvania wedding laws and we have no choice in this matter)’:
If you smoke cigarettes or vapes, you are required to do so in the designated smoking area outside. If you’re looking to smoke something a bit greener, please do not on Barn Swallow Farms property…there is a hefty fine if you’re caught doing so. If you absolutely need to, come see one of us and we will point you in the right direction ;P
