Garland and I met during a Cesarean Section. I was in my second year of residency and he was a third year medical student just starting his OBGYN rotation. He was helping me deliver a brand new baby! At the time I thought to myself, "this guy is really cute", and later learned that he was thinking, "I've got to ask this girl out!" Which he eventually did. Of course nothing happened until he was done with the rotation!

Our first date was literally on the coldest day of the year! It was January, 11 degrees outside and I had just finished working a week of night shifts. We went to a plant shop in downtown Fort Worth and looked at all the plants. We are both plant lovers! Then we had dinner at Reata and had the restaurant to ourselves. When the date was over and I got home, Garland called me and we talked for a while on the phone and made plans for a second!

Garland proposed to me in Destin, Florida on November 20th, 2025. We went on a trip there with his family. I had never seen white sand before! I was told we were taking "family pictures" and to wear white. So I had some suspicion of what was going on. What I didn't know was he had coordinated my parents being there for the proposal which was really sweet. We went on a walk on the beach right before sunset and he had pink roses placed in a heart shape in the sand and proposed to me in the middle of it.

We love our plants! When we first met I made clippings of all of my house plants and propagated them for Garland. He potted them and let them grow. Fast forward 2 years and we have now combined all of our plants. What were once small plants have now doubled in size! We can't wait to have a garden and grow all sorts of things! We love to work out! No matter how busy life gets, we make it a priority. Leg day is one of our favorites. We are accountable to each other when it comes to working out. He pushes me to lift heavier and I provide support when he's going for that final rep!
