We're getting married!

If you ask Serena she will tell you that she saw Mitchell first. If you ask Mitchell he'll say he saw her first. Mitchell and Serena met in high school where their circle of friends would occasionally overlap. The two finally started getting to know each other in their senior year of high school where they bonded over sitting out their senior seasons. They talked on and off, but like most high school flings nothing came out of it...or so they thought. The two went on their separate ways for college, but after only one year later found themselves back in their hometown. The two reconnected and the rest is history. Over their 7+ years together they have battled the hardships that are college life and long distance.

In all of their years together, they never really did the “Spring Break” thing so the two decided to go on a cruise for Spring Break 2019 (just in time before COVID). Plot twist, a few months back Serena had an unexpected three day weekend (and A&M NEVER gives days off) so she made an impromptu trip home which turned out was the weekend Mitchell planned to buy the ring so that it would be in before the cruise. Between his inability to keep secrets (Mitchell just gets so excited) and Serena's innate ability to ruin surprises, she spoiled his original plan to propose BEFORE the cruise and truly catch her off guard (oops!) The first night on the ship they decided to do a little exploring then get settled in. Mitchell began describing the love they share and the life they have planned together. He stops and proposes in a moment that is sweet and true to their relationship. Serena likes to joke that Mitchell didn’t even have the ring in his possession for 24 hours before proposing because he was just so ready!
