Sequoya and I met four years ago on a dating app, funny enough. At the time, neither of us was looking for anything too serious, but we were excited to get to know each other. We spent time talking, hanging out, and eventually went on our first date to the movies where we shared our first kiss. Not long after, Sequoya went off to college. We kept in touch, but things didn’t quite go as planned. A couple of months later, fate stepped in when we ran into each other at Shoquan’s sister’s track meet and reconnected. Sequoya’s mom also played a big part in getting us back on track, jokingly calling me her son-in-law. From that point on, we were inseparable. Over the years, our bond has only grown stronger, and now we’re taking the next step in our journey together, tying the knot.
