T. Tyler Potterfield Memorial Bridge
A beautiful walk across to the other side of the river over rapids to one of the outdoor climbing walls. Views of new bridges and the ruins of civil war bridges burned in the civil war. Richmond is the only US Urban city with class IV rapids.
Belle Isle
Walk under a bridge on a pedestrian only suspension bridge to a large island in the river. Explore multiple areas with rapids, old river manufacturing equipment, bridges, and hidden areas to explore and rock hop. Rent kayaks and paddle if desired, or explore the island and enjoy the beautiful views, and relax on sun-warmed rocks in the river. Belle Isle was a civil war open air prison.
LuLu's
Our absolute favorite gourmet brunch location! Reservations are required in advance as it is always busy. Try the brazilian mimosa or the bacon bloody mary, and the atlantic omelet filled with lobster and crab and covered in hollandaise is one of the best menu items (but there are so many!)
Breweries! And Brewery tours
Richmond is the number one beer destination in the world, and there are breweries galore! Get a brewery map and tour around, or select some favorites. Many have live music and all are good fun!

Maymont
Beautiful mansion and grounds including waterfall, japanese garden and grotto, italian garden, and estate along with animal exhibits and petting area. Entire facility is free!

The Sidewalk Cafe
One of the most fun brunch spots in Richmond! Mimosas, music, energy, and atmosphere (and Momma!) make this one of our favorite brunch spots. Not to mention the cajun hash. Come in for a Richmond experience!
The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing
Come for the view! Watch sunset over the river while enjoying a good cocktail. Conch republic next door has a great sunset deck and often has live music
Good Food!!
Richmond is well known for its excellent restaurant scene, and we have a list of favorites!! Check out Stellas (you will probably need reservations), Dutch and Company (AMAZING food! get the 3 course price fix menu), and try the hole in the wall Mamma Zu's. For Saturday brunch try Lulu's or Sidewalk cafe.
Hollywood Cemetery
135 acres of historic gravesites, and a nice view of the river. It serves as the final resting place for two American presidents, six Virginia governors, two Supreme Court justices, twenty-two Confederate generals and thousands of Confederate soldiers.
