Best Man
Selecting your teenage son as the best man is like handing the keys to the wedding kingdom to a mix of hormones and questionable fashion choices. It's a bold move that says, "Who needs a polished speech when you can have a hilarious, unfiltered commentary on love, life, and why ties are overrated accessories?" Get ready for a best man speech that might include Pokemon Go references and the secret to surviving middle school.. or no speech at all
Maid of Honor
Steph's ride or die since age 15, we've been through it all. Heather has been fully her own person since long before I figured out what I'm all about and I look up to her so much as a friend, mother and human. I know she fully has my back every day and October 5th is going to be no different. I couldn't Imagine anyone else holding my dress up while I pee.
Groomsman
Mark's brother and oldest friend despite not being able to be left alone for more than 5 minutes without fighting in their younger days.
Matron of Honor
Sarah and Steph went to high school together and became even closer after. Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, Mest... the soundtrack of all our drives around the county. Sarah has been a rock through hard times and good and is the voice inside my head. I got to stand by her at her wedding and I can't wait to have her by my side. Best friends means friends forever.
Groomswoman
Easily one of Mark's biggest supporters. Not only was Crystal the first person Mark told about the "more than friends" feelings that were beginning to come up towards Steph, but the two also share a love for In-N-Out.... Mmmmm
Bridesmaid
Lyndsey is Steph's sister and has known her the longest. She has seen me through all the weird and awkward stages including the summer where I thought I was going to be a super creative movie director and had her star in all my shorts.
Bridesmaid
Kelsey and Steph met in Portland through some long ago exes. Getting each other out of the deal was well worth it. Kelsey is my favorite to sit around with and do nothing, whether that's on the couch or roasting in the sun. We are such best friends we have matching butt tattoos and our photo text chain is unrivaled.
Bridesmaid
Meagan is Steph's cousin and twin. We switched coasts around the same time in our lives and I'll always be sad I don't get to live near her, BUT *boy* do we make up for lost time at our crazy family gatherings and debriefings after. She is so beautiful and the ultimate ego boost of my life ever was when her 3 year old daughter saw a picture of me and thought it was her. *hair flip*
Bridesmaid
Varv and Steph were roommates in college. That seems like a lifetime ago, we have had SO many adventures since. From Seattle, San Diego, Austin, New Orleans, Houston (what happens stays), Denver, Palm Springs, Pawley's Island, Salisbury, Portland, living together again in Olney, and the best thing is visiting each other in the homes we own in Oregon City and Annandale. It's been a wild ride and I can't imagine the future holds anything different. Remember that one time we were skinny dipping and you lost your mom's ring in the water and I found it for you in the mud? Claim to fame.
Officiant
Danielle is Steph's cousin, born 3 months apart. She was the first in the family to get to know Mark and they became fast friends giving each other all the grief. Our kids get along so well that visiting Boise is the best because we don't have to see any of them for 3 days. Having Danielle officiate just felt right for both Martin and I. Bets on which of us cries the most.
