Travel

Idyllwild is short on traditional hotels, but you'll find plenty of cozy lodges and cute cabins on Airbnb and Vacasa, or even one of the campgrounds listed below. Spend the night in town to avoid driving down the mountain at night and stay up late with us! Getting There From Palm Desert (about an hour): Wind up the mountain on Highway 74 W for 36 miles, then a slight right onto Highway 243 N for about 5 miles. The Nature Center will be on your left just after you pass through town. Getting There From the Coast (about two hours): There are two open routes into Idyllwild from the west. Starting in Riverside, take the 60 E to the 79 S to 74 E. Or, from Temecula take the 79 S to 371 E to 74 W. Highay 243 S out of Banning is closed! Nearby Airports: Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) Ontario International Airport (ONT)
