We briefly met in January 2017 when Dalia was on a speaker panel during Blake's orientation weekend at NYU Stern. According to Blake, he first noticed Dalia's voice and then her blue eyes. We didn't actually talk until about a month later, when Blake walked Dalia home after class (...happy hour) one night - always the gentleman! Dalia was oblivious to the fact that Blake was planting a seed. In March, our mutual friend (thanks, Debra Lin!) poured some water on that seed by suggesting to Dalia that she might like a cute new guy in her class - but not just cute - tall, Jewish, and he has great hair! Dalia was intrigued! Fast forward to Spring Fling, the annual Stern spring formal. Dalia wore a blue dress to match her blue eyes, and Blake looked dapper in a sharp suit and fresh haircut. Thankfully, Jon Bernstein got Blake onto the dance floor and then sparks started to fly. We were joined at the hip for the rest of the night - it was less than 6 months later when we professed our love (Dalia first... then Blake)! Since then, there have been many trips together (Israel, Aruba, Sonoma, Denver, Miami, New Orleans, and Maine to name a few), many weekends in the Hamptons, Westchester and Ohio with family, some disappointing seasons of Mets baseball and fantasy football, and a LOT of tacos. After a walk in Washington Square Park one morning, we ended up walking by Stern, and Blake dropped to one knee right where our story began. We celebrated with Dalia’s favorite tacos (Dorado... best kept secret in New York). We officially married at City Hall in New York City in November 2018, and on April 30, 2019, we were blessed with the greatest joy in our life - our little Jordan Maya. More than 4 years since we first met, we are thrilled to walk down the aisle surrounded by our family and friends.
