How we met

September 25, 2019

We met on a dating site called Bumble. I swiped right and bam, we were a match. He was looking ‘fine’ in his Navy uniform. She had an amazing smile. Well, our profiles were perfect: family-oriented, wanting to enjoy life, and a companion. We both were not looking for anything serious! Well, God and the universe had other plans we didn’t know of yet. We talked for a few weeks before we finally set up a date to meet. Our first date was breakfast at Cracker Barrel. The conversation was easy. The waitress gives us the check. Frank pulls out his wallet “George Costanza wallet” to pay. I wanted to laugh so hard, but I didn’t. You know, first date and all. Then, Frank instantly discovered, I was “no PDA” after our first kiss in the parking lot. Yes, he was a perfect gentleman. With our crazy schedules, we continued to have breakfast, brunch, and/or lunch. We finally, after 2 to 3 months, had our first evening date at Longwood Gardens Christmas Display. Everything was so beautiful and magical (Are you ready to throw up yet. just kidding). I also met one of his best friends Tommy at the VFW. Around Christmas, I met all his kids. Nope, he still hasn’t met any of mine. On New Year’s Eve, he worked a few hours, and I was on call. We were not able to ring the New Year in together, but he invited me over to Bonnie and Jeff’s house for a New Year’s Eve party. This is when I discovered Frank’s amazing singing voice (not!) with Suspicious Minds by Elvis. He will not be on The Voice anytime soon. So, the next morning which is New Year’s Day, as he promised me, hungover and all, he takes me to my first Mummer’s Day Parade. I have pictures to prove he was still hungover. Later that month, I was invited to see his oldest son, Francis, who was graduating from Temple University. Proud Dad moment here. I felt honored to share it with him. After graduation, we went out to celebrate. Here is where I met his in-laws and friends. I can tell you... the in-laws discovered I was a NY Giants and Ohio State fan, I believe this is why I never got my desert that night. Thanks, Frank lol. I met these two amazing ladies, Jackie T and Megan, at the VFW graduation party. These ladies eased my nervousness and made me laugh after the whole dinner fiasco. During our first summer together, I met more of Frank's ‘Chuck’ best friends: Jimmy, Fran, Peggy, and Walt. Fran knows how to put you on the spot. He asks us are you kids planning on getting married. Umm, we look at each like we haven’t even thought about it yet. He must have had a crystal ball. Through the past 3 years, we have done so many amazing things a lot including first: mummers day parades, flyers games, birthdays, graduations, concerts, and the global pandemic, and the list goes on-on. If you’re wondering, yes, Frank finally met my kids in March. I would like to send a special thank you to several people who have been team Frank: Jackie, Rachel, Ashley Kathy, Alden, Michele, Katie, Cailtin, Francine, Linda, Brie, and Radhika. I now have my Knight and Shining Armor or personal Mandalorian We found each other with just a simple swipe of luck.
