A beer hall originally built in 1589 by Bavarian Duke Maximilian I as an extension of the Staatliches Hofbräuhaus in München brewery. All of the rooms except the historic beer hall ("Schwemme") were destroyed in the World War II bombings. The reopening of the Festival Hall in 1958 marked the end of the post-war restoration work.
Look for the Devil's footprint, a famous black mark on a floor tile inside the cathedral. According to legend, the devil stamped his foot in fury at the entrance upon realizing he was tricked into funding a church that appeared windowless from that spot, but was actually full of light. When viewed from the specific entrance spot, the massive columns block all windows from view.
Make sure to climb the church tower for the best views of the city (305 steps).
