We met 7 years ago through a mutual friend. Time went by, and life moved on. In 2019, after getting back in contact through a happy birthday Facebook message, we reconnected on our first date at Van Gogh's Ear in Union. We caught up & spoke about what lies ahead of us, not knowing what the future would hold. Through the countless movie nights, walks around the neighborhood, and gym dates, we found ourselves desiring more out of life together. Through the ups, the downs, the good, bad, and the ugly, our love for each other outweighed it all. Three golden years later, we are looking forward to becoming the future Mr. & Mrs. Romano. Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite.
The months leading up to the proposal, I was sure Joe had something in his back pocket- I just didn't think it would come on such a magical day! It was Christmas morning, and I was so excited to wake up and watch Joe open his presents downstairs. We woke up, had some coffee, and sat on the couch to see what Santa brought to us! I sat and waited, as he opened all his gifts one by one. Once he finished, I watched as he left to walk up our steps to place his phone on the ledge. Little did I know, he set the phone on record mode. I questioned what he was doing, and in true Joe fashion he replied "I'm going to blackmail you". He walked right towards me, and asked me to stand up. Hesitant, I froze. I watched him get down on one knee, and ask that million dollar question. Of course, I said yes- after i cried for some time! I couldn't have thought of a better Christmas present. After he proposed, I called my parents with excitement and tears, and soon after broke the news to my future in-laws. I somehow knew everyone was in on this secret! After all, they had to get first sight of the ring! A beautiful rose gold cushion cut- a unique style for a unique type of love.
