Question

Do I have to wear a costume?

Answer

Costumes are encouraged but not required. Selena and Nathan want everyone to enjoy themselves. If you feel moved to join in the spooky spirit of the evening, please do! It's Halloween, have fun with it! The bride and groom will be somewhat Gothic in their fashion. For those who choose not to wear a costume but still want to fit in with the activities, masquerade masks or a folding fan will be available. Question

Since this is a County facility, are there any rules we should know about?

Answer

Good question! The Harlandale Civic Center is part of the Bexar County parks system. The biggest rule, besides behaving yourselves, is NO GLASS on the premises. We also have to abide by all City noise ordinances. There will be a security officer on duty to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Will there be alcohol at the wedding?

Answer

No, both Selena and Nathan would prefer the night to be alcohol free and will not be providing any during the reception. A non-alcoholic sparkling cider and a pomegranate punch will be provided to toast the happy couple.

Question

I have small children who are disappointed they'll miss trick-or-treating. Will there be anything for them to do?

Answer

Selena and Nathan know that the best part about Halloween, besides the costumes, is the candy! We will have a candy bar and a few activities set up for the young ones. Dress them in their best costume and have fun!

Question

I heard there will be an ofrenda. Can we bring something to put on it?

Answer

That is what Selena and Nathan are hoping for! Bring a small something to honor and remember your loved ones who have passed. Please remember that this is a County facility, and glass is not allowed. If you bring a picture it can't be in a frame that contains glass. Don't forget to take your remembrance home with you.

Question

It's a school/work night, we may not be able to make it. Will you be upset if we can't make it or can't stay the whole night?

Answer

Nathan and Selena understand that everyone has obligations that include work and family. It is their hope to see you at their Hallowedding; but if you can't stay for the whole reception, or even make it at all, they want you to know that they understand and you wanting to be there means the world to them.
