Dear family and friends, We have made the difficult decision to postpone our wedding due to the coronavirus outbreak. Your health and safety are our top priority. We will keep you updated regarding our wedding details for a summer or fall wedding. We will also be updating the Zola webpage with new details. Our pastor married us Friday, March 20th, in Selena's parents' living room; and with God's blessing we are now moving into our first apartment together. We are so thankful for your love and supprt and the wedding registry gifts that we have already received; it's a blessing to fill our first apartment with your treasures. Thank you so much and we look forward to seeing you at our new wedding celebration. Love, Selena and Marty
Selena and Marty's love story starts in 2011, at the age of fourteen when they began their freshman year of high school. They had two classes together, and although they hadn’t started dating yet, their mutual crushes for each other planted the seed for their love to grow. Marty even recalls noticing Selena at a dance in the very beginning of that school year! Selena remembers that cute boy that sat behind her in fifth period. In their sophomore year, they started dating officially and they could not have been more thrilled. And so they continued dating through their junior year. During their senior year of high school, they decided to go their separate ways for college, and while they were studying for their degrees, they know God was working to bring them back together in His perfect timing. So, here they are, eight years since their story began, two high school sweethearts getting married.
When Marty suggested they go out for a stroll, Selena didn't think much of it. After a nice, short walk in the cozy town of Tehachapi, they arrived at Jennifer's Terrace, where Marty expressed his feelings for Selena, then popped the question! Selena was more than excited to answer "Yes!". The scenery was a beautiful garden.
