We met on the first day of our sophomore year of high school. Selena was new to our school and we had Bible class together. The most beautiful girl I had ever seen walked in and I knew two things: I had to know her name and I was going to marry her. Kyle was sitting in class and I came and sat in the desk next to him. We would end up having English class together too and talked every day during our study hall about whatever book we were reading. Kyle later admitted to me that he asked our teacher to place us in a group project in order to get my number!

Our first date was in the middle of the pandemic so we had to be creative! Kyle had planned the whole date, came to pick me up that day, and drove us to the mountains. We ended up making a wrong turn and ended up at this beautiful overlook. We had driven in the truck that day and had some blankets so we just sat in the bed of the truck and ended up talking for hours while it was sprinkling rain the whole time. Then, Kyle asked me for a dance and we danced in the rain! After that we drove back into town and got food from my favorite Chinese restaurant! IT WAS THE BEST FIRST DATE EVER!

This was one of the sweetest, most amazing days of our lives. June 8th marked a year since I had told Kyle I loved Him. That day, my maid of honor Mallory took me on a drive that ended where him and I had our first kiss. He was waiting there with Buzz (His car) and drove me around to all of the special spots we had around Colorado and at each spot was someone special who would pray over us and speak life into our relationship! He flew in one of my best friends, Sandra, from Texas and brought all of my family together. We arrived at our final spot, after eating olive garden of course, and walked up this hill where we would always go to watch the sunset. It was the place he had first told me he wanted to marry me. As I walked up the hill I was shocked to see it lined all the way to the top with our loved ones each holding a flower in their hand to give to me as I made my journey up the hill to my future husband! There on top of the hill with the sunset setting over the mountains in the background, my best friend proposed to me and it was the BEST DAY EVER!
