We're tying the knot!

The first time Shawn and Selena met was through the military in August of 2017. Shawn just happened to be Selena's point of contact and sergeant at the time. Over the years of Selena's military career, her and Shawn became good friends. They helped each other through a lot of rough patches in their lives, some would argue that they helped each other stay sane (not much hope for Shawn though... dude's pretty crazy.) It was the years of friendship and growth, that later made them realize that there could be something more than just their friendship. It wasn't until late 2019 early 2020 when they realized there was definitely more... and also when they decided to take a chance and move forward with the relationship that has brought everyone here today !

The day Shawn proposed to Selena was a very special day for the couple all around as it was the day they baptized their son. Shawn was very nervous because he knew how much they talked about their future and what it holds for them. It took Shawn a long time to find the best opportunity to propose, it was only when Selena said that their friend Sam was going to photograph the baptism for them, that he saw the best chance to make the opportunity a reality. Selena happen to look away for one second, so Shawn decided to seize the moment to get down on one knee and pop the question we all were waiting for. Selena was in such shock, she couldn't catch her breathe or control her tears. Selena completely overjoyed forgot to answer right away until Shawn made the comment "is that a yes? because my knees are slowly giving out here." Of course, Selena said yes and everyone who attended Caleb's baptism cheered as the couple hugged and kissed to celebrate their new engagement. That moment was one of the first few moments that helped start their lives together as a family.
