Mels, or Melsi, is a beautiful Ethiopian and Eritrean tradition—an intimate celebration shared with our closest family and friends.
Both the ceremony and the reception will be held indoors.
The ceremony will begin at 11 am; please arrive 10-20 minutes early to ensure you have time to park and be seated, as the ceremony will begin on time. The ceremony will last approximately one and a half hours. Reception will begin at 6 pm. We kindly ask everyone to arrive on time. Let’s trade 'Habesha time' for 'on-time' this year—it’s 2025, after all. 😊 We can't wait to celebrate with you!
The church ceremony will be held at Orthodox Tewahedo Mekane Selam Medhane Alem (4100 Mountain Blvd, Oakland, CA 94619), approximately 35 miles from the venue in Milpitas.
We adore your little ones, but our wedding will be an adults-only celebration due to space limitations. We appreciate your understanding and hope you enjoy a night off to celebrate with us!
Yes, parking is available at the ceremony venue (the church) and the reception venue. If you plan to party and enjoy drinks with us, please consider using rideshare services like Uber and Lyft.
