It's Happening...We're Getting Married!

We met at McMurphy's in Amherst at the legendary 'Guitar Dudes' gig. It was Danielle's first show but Kyle was a veteran, and happy to lead her along to every song. There was dancing, duetting, and fist pumping. That’s pretty much when we thought, “Okay. This could be something.”

Nothing says first date like bruschetta and dragons, right? Right! We quickly discovered a mutual love of good food, cooking, and HBO, and blended it all into a fun first date, getting cozy on couch over tomatoes and Game of Thrones.

After another year of cross-country romance, it was time for a new adventure and to reunite. I flew to CA for some job interviews and to visit Kyle. After a busy week, we headed to Paso Robles for, what I thought, would be a relaxing day of wine tasting with Kyle's family. On the way, we detoured outside Paso to visit a family member's "new home". It was odd that the "previous owners" were still living there, but my suspicion (and impatience for some vino) quickly evaporated when they asked if we wanted to see their litter of dachshund puppies. They were so adorable, sweet, and tiny, that I didn't notice when one was handed to me with a collar. After a few (excruciating) minutes, Kyle finally asked me what the tag said... "Marry Me?", I read aloud, and looked up to see him on one knee in front of me. What Kyle said after that, neither of us remember, but I said 'yes' and now we're engaged! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in the Bay State!
