Rocky Mountain NP is a gorgeous slice of Colorado wilderness that has easy and difficult hikes, and scenic roads to drive through. You can spot animals of all kinds, including elk, black bears, bald eagles, and more, from the roads and drinking from the many lakes that anyone can walk around. For the out-of-towners, considering picking up an oxygen canister from any grocery store or pharmacy if you plan on hiking. The National Park is located just outside of the town of Estes Park, at an elevation of 7,522' above sea level. Additionally, check the night before (at 7 pm) to join the reservation system for the following day.
Drive out to Glenwood Springs from Denver on Interstate-70 and you will end up in the Glenwood Canyon, one of the most breathtaking drives in the state. It takes about 4 hours, so consider spending a night enjoying the hot springs and picturesque small town. You will have the opportunity to stop along the route in iconic CO towns like Vail, Breckenridge, or Georgetown. Perhaps consider taking the California Zephyr train from Denver, which takes about 7 hours, and enjoy wildlife spotting while enjoying a very unique experience on the famous sleeper train.
Perhaps you are ready for a unique experience, why not try train travel. You can take the California Zephyr train from Denver to Glenwood Springs or Grand Junction. In Glenwood Springs, one could try the famous hot springs for one night, then return on the California Zephyr back to Denver the next day. Or consider taking the train to Grand Junction and taking an Uber to the nearby town of Palisade, just a few miles away. Palisade is known for its peaches and wine, the only wine growing region of Colorado. Austin was skeptical of train travel at first, but had a fantastic time when we took this in February.

Take a train up Pikes Peak! Up top Pikes Peak is the highest air fryer, producing doughnuts above 14,000' of elevation! Near the venue.
Two brothers named George and John Pickett discovered the cave in Colorado. There are cave tours of years past, as well as thrilling adventures and experiences! Super fun and near the venue.
The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is a unique zoo due to its location on the side of a mountain in Colorado Springs. They are best known for the giraffe feeding, good food, and craft beer. In a true Colorado tradition, you can enjoy a craft beer from a local brewery; while viewing the penguins or black bears.
