Kyle and Emily first met in the fall of 2019 at a Halloween party Kyle was hosting at his college house in Boulder. Emily stopped by with friends, and when they met, they talked all night, there was an instant connection. A few months later, the world shut down. Kyle went back to California and Emily returned to Texas, and with the distance between them they eventually lost touch. A year and a half passed. In the spring of 2021, they found their way back to each other and started talking again. Kyle was in his final semester at CU, and once they began spending time together they quickly became inseparable. On one of their first dates, Kyle picked Emily up, and what was meant to be an afternoon together turned into an entire day. They wandered through the city, talked and laughed for hours, and by the time evening came, neither of them was in any hurry for the day to end. That summer in Boulder was unforgettable. It was that rare moment at the end of college when life feels wide open and time moves a little slower. Kyle and Emily spent it side by side, doing everything and nothing together. It was the kind of summer you look back on and realize those were some of the best days. After Kyle graduated that spring, they spent about six months doing long distance. But it didn’t feel as long as it sounds. They visited each other constantly, every few weeks, sometimes for weeks at a time, and the miles between them never felt quite so far. Kyle and Emily moved to Scottsdale together and began building their life in the Arizona desert. What started as a new city quickly became the place where they created a home of their own. Before long, they welcomed their first dog, Finnegan, a big personality who quickly became the heart of their home. A little while later, they bought their first house together, turning it into a place full of laughter, weekend projects, dinners with friends, and all the small everyday moments that make life feel special. A few years later, they added Poppy to the family. With two dogs and a home of their own, their life together continued to grow in all the best ways. Along the way, they also shared countless adventures beyond their doorstep - traveling to Mexico, Alaska, Jamaica, Florida, and more road trips to California, Colorado, Texas, and Washington than they can keep track of. Each trip became another chapter in the story they were building together, full of memories they would treasure forever. Now, Kyle and Emily are excited to celebrate their love with family and friends on September 19th in Tenino, Washington. From a party in Boulder to building a life together in the Arizona desert, the journey has been unforgettable. As they step into this next chapter, they’re ready to start the rest of their lives together, surrounded by love, laughter, and all the people who have cheered them on along the way.
