We met at First Watch Bearden when the Knoxville Fellows class 11 met for the very first time over brunch. It was orientation weekend and we were all excited to get to know the other people we would spend the next year with. We chatted some over brunch, and a friendship began. Because the Fellows has a strict rule: NO DATING OTHER FELLOWS. Fast-forward to the first month of our Fellows program and we were fast friends. We trusted each other, confided in each other, and started hanging out a little bit more. One of our favorite memories is when we were tasked with preparing appetizers for a Fellows get-together. After a trip to the grocery store, we got caught in a hurricane-type storm, running through market square with our groceries (and selves) soaked through and through. We both remember thinking that this was one of those "movie-moments" when the two friends fall in love... But still, we were just friends. Many innocent walks and friendly notes left under windshield wipers later, the truth came out at a fellows retreat, and the rest is history. On March 23, 2018, near the end of our Fellows year, we went on our first official date, and then one year (and a few days later), we decided on a lifetime of grocery trips, long walks, and leaving notes under each other's windshield wipers.
