It all started in a restaurant. Lalo was in the back of house, steady over the flames. I was in the front of house, managing the floor and keeping everything moving. Two completely different roles, under the same roof. Lalo says it was love at first sight. I didn’t know it then, but somewhere between the heat of the kitchen and the rhythm of the dining room, something had already begun. When I stepped into management, he started making me meals. Not just staff food meals made with care. If I took a break, he suddenly needed one too. If I was on shift, he always found a reason to pass through the front. What started as small moments slowly became long conversations, shared laughter, and a connection that felt easy and undeniable. Coworkers became friends. Friends became partners. And before we knew it, years had passed. Over the last ten years, we haven’t just loved each other we’ve grown up together. Through long shifts, big dreams, risks that felt scary, and goals that once felt impossible. What started in a restaurant kitchen became a shared vision… and eventually our own business. Somehow, the front of house and back of house were always meant to run side by side. Lalo still jokes that I was his boss back then… and somehow, I’m still his boss now. But what we’ve built was never about who was in charge. It was about choosing each other on the long days, in the uncertainty, in the growth, and in every season in between. We didn’t just fall in love. We built it. And now, ten years later, we can’t wait to stand in front of the people we love most and promise to keep building together for the rest of our lives.
