- Are you < 65 years old? - Must submit application in person for biometrics capturing at any of the OIS service centers - 65 years and above – Visa applications may be mailed in to one of the OIS Centers. - Documents required for Visa application** - International Passport (at least 6 months validity & 2 blank pages) - 2 Passport sized photographs. - Complete application form online at: https://visa.immigration.gov.ng/ (printed out and signed) - Payment and acknowledgement slips printed from http://www.innovate1services.com/ - Appointment booking confirmation from OIS - Flight itinerary - Evidence of funds to cover stay in Nigeria – Minimum of $500 per person in a bank statement not older than 3 months . - Letter of Invitation from host in Nigeria ( + PASSPORT BIODATA PAGE)*** - 1 USPS PRIORITY STAMP envelope - Visa appointment should be scheduled for within 90 days of intended travel but not later than 8 weeks to (i.e early September). December is peak travel period, and visa appointment dates may be harder to find closer to travel date. December is harmattan season in Lagos. Weather is dry and dusty with temperature ranging from 75˚ -90˚. Pack layered clothes, sunscreen, hats & sunglasses. Hotels and Airbnb will provide Wi-Fi, but expect no Wi-Fi in most public areas. See about an international roaming plan with your U.S service provider.If you plan to be outdoors a lot, bring a power bank. Not many public charging spots. Lagos has a wide selection of restaurants, street food vendors and regular eateries that offer West African cuisine, American-style food and international cuisine. Most West African dishes are spicy/flavorful. General tip for trying new food in a new country - Pack some Imodium, liquid iv e.tc.

Some general safety tips for tourists/ foreign visitors in a busy city like Lagos: ~ Always keep your phone with you in case of an emergency. ~Keep strict watch over phones, wallets and other valuables in public. ~ Avoid going out solo. Always inform a partner of your whereabouts ~Consider a tour guide or speak to the host if headed to local concentrated areas e.g., markets, trade fair, beaches, historic sites in Badagry.
