Question

When should you RSVP by?

Answer

Please try your best to RSVP by September 15.

Question

Can I book an Airbnb instead of hotel?

Answer

We suggest staying in a hotel, but Airbnb’s are also available. If you’re looking for Airbnb’s, we recommend searching these areas: Zamalek (⭐️) Al Manial Nasr City New Cairo

Question

Are there any other things I should be aware of?

Answer

Tipping culture is customary in Egypt, but we’d strongly advise to stay on the cautious side when it comes to people asking for money or your time. Reliable ATMs and currency exchange booths are available at the airport. If you need to withdraw money at an ATM, look for banks like National Bank of Egypt, Bank Misr, and QNB. These typically have the best exchange rates and lowest fees. Be aware of your surroundings. Keep valuables at home and carry only as much cash as you need. Drivers aren’t always the best. Be careful when crossing roadways. Uber is available in Egypt. When ordering rides, make sure to set the pin to your exact location as street names are sometimes confusing. Remember not all drivers speak great English so Google Translate will be your best friend. Talabat (Arabic version of Doordash) is also available in Egypt. When looking for restaurants to eat, hotel restaurants are always a safe bet. Outside of that, make sure to Google ratings and steer away from anything that isn’t cooked (salads, cold foods, etc). Drink only bottled water and drinks.

Question

What is the best mode of transport in Egypt?

Answer

We recommend using Uber or another similar local application called inDrive.

Question

Do I need a visa to travel?

Answer

Please check the visa requirements for Egypt based on your nationality. We recommend applying for a visa well in advance if necessary. US/British/Canadian passport holders can apply for visa on arrival.

Question

What currency is used, and where can I exchange money?

Answer

The local currency is Egyptian Pounds (EGP). You can exchange money at the airport ATMs (recommended), or local bank ATMs. Bank cards are also widely accepted. The current exchange rate is approx. 1 USD to 47 EGP.

Question

What is the weather like?

Answer

In November, the weather in Cairo will be in the mid 60s to high 70s. We recommend packing sweaters/hoodies for the evenings as it may get chilly.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We recommend all guests arrive to the ceremony no later than 3pm.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Due to venue restrictions and for an intimate and enjoyable experience for all, we kindly request that our ceremony be an adults-only occasion. Thank you for your understanding.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

While we recommend using Uber/inDrive for transportation, there is a parking garage at Manial Palace which can accommodate guests who choose to drive to the reception.
