We came to Colorado to nail down an apartment for us to begin our new life. We are both from Illinois and we have been together 5 years at the time. It has always been a goal of ours to move out of state, and we both loved Colorado. It is a perfect place to raise a family! After we went on a morning hike with a family friend at Colton Trailhead, Noah suggested that him and I go up to the mountains, we had never been to the mountains before and he knew that it would be very special to me. I had no clue what was to come! We went up to Boulder and took a beautiful drive through the Lost Gulch Lookout. Halfway up we decided to stop off by a trail overlooking another mountain side, filled with dozens of pine trees. It was so beautiful ❤️. I was taking tons of pictures and soaking it all up when he suggested we sit on a bench to enjoy it together. I remember feeling so content and I could tell he was nervous. That's when he popped the question and it was honestly something I didn't expect from him. I was speechless and the whole day after that felt like a dream. "Is this real life?" I remember thinking. It was, and it is! I can't wait to marry my best friend, my soulmate.
