FAQs

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

We are requesting Formal to Semi-Formal/Cocktail attire and in darker tones for our Fall evening wedding and reception. So this ranges from a formal gown to a mid-length dress, or a dressy top and formal bottoms, or an elegant jumpsuit. For suiting, a dark suit & jacket or vest is preferred but optional - think what you would wear to a special dinner at a fancy restaurant. No blue denim, please. Our ceremony will take place outdoors, on grass, so keep this in mind when choosing footwear. Our reception will be under a paved patio pavilion next to a lake at night, so consider bringing a light coat.

Question

When do I show up?

Answer

We understand that a Friday wedding may be tricky for some, but please be on time (aim for a 4:00 pm - 4:20 pm arrival). In the event that you arrive late for the ceremony, an event staffer will seat you. Otherwise, you are welcome to arrive during the Hors D’oeuvres Hour between 5:00pm and 6:00pm for light eats, beer, and wine.

Question

What will the terrain and weather be like?

Answer

The weather during the day will be around 70 degrees, dipping into the 50 degree range at night. The venue is mostly paved, with some grass, and is wheelchair accessible throughout. The ceremony takes place on a grass lawn before sundown. There is a paved walkway to reach your seats. The reception takes place outside next to a lake after sundown and under a paved, covered pavilion. Some evenings can be chilly, so a light jacket may be a useful item to bring.
