Bear Mountain State Park
Bear Mountain State Park is situated in rugged mountains rising from the west bank of the Hudson River. The park features a large play field, shaded picnic groves, lake and river fishing access, a swimming pool, Trailside Museums and Zoo, hiking, biking and cross-country ski trails.
Anthony's Nose Trailhead
A popular, medium-level 7.6 mile hike on the Appalachian Trail, at the border of Bear Mountain Park, with amazing views over the Hudson River.
Croton Gorge Park
Croton Gorge Park is a 97-acre property at the base of the Croton Dam and affords impressive views of the dam and spillway. The park is a popular spot for fishing, picnicking and hiking, with direct trail access to New York State’s Old Croton Aqueduct, which begins here. The Old Croton Dam, built to supply New York City with water, was the first large masonry dam in the United States. Completed in 1842, it was the prototype for many municipal water supply dams in the east during the mid-nineteenth century.
Scenic Hudson RiverWalk Park at Tarrytown
This public park offers magnificent views next to the Hudson River stretching to the Manhattan skyline. Features include a riverside esplanade, grass terraces and lawns, and an “eco-corridor” filled with native plants. The parks is a segment of the county’s planned 51-mile RiverWalk and adjacent to Tarrytown’s Pierson Park.
Storm King Art Center
Storm King Art Center is a 500-acre outdoor museum located in New York’s Hudson Valley, where visitors experience large-scale sculpture and site-specific commissions under open sky. Since 1960, Storm King has been dedicated to stewarding the hills, meadows, and forests of its site and surrounding landscape
Philipsburg Manor
Todays villages of Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown are descendants of Philipsburg Manor, a colonial-era farming, milling, and trading center. In 1653 Frederick Philipse came to the Dutch colony of New Netherland as a carpenter for the Dutch West India company. Through canny business skill, an astute sense of politics, and two very advantageous marriages, Philipse came to control 52,000 acres of what is now Westchester County. Philipse's trading center has been restored to its appearance in 1750 when it was home to several hundred tenant farmers and two dozen African slaves. Programs and events show how Dutch, African, and Native American cultures became entwined at this colonial outpost.

Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Sleepy Hollow, New York, is the final resting place of numerous famous figures, including Washington Irving, whose 1820 short story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" is set in the adjacent burying ground at the Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow
Kykuit, the Rockefeller Estate
Kykuit was home to four generations of the Rockefeller family, beginning with the philanthropist John D. Rockefeller, founder of Standard Oil. His business acumen made him, in his day, the richest man in America. Now a historic site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, this extraordinary landmark has been continuously and meticulously maintained for more than 100 years. Washington Irving's Sunnyside
Sunnyside, Washington Irving’s meticulously restored home is filled with the author’s possessions including his writing desk and books. Guides, costumed in formal dress of the period, explain how Irving designed house and grounds himself to reflect his romantic views of art, nature, and history.
The Armour-Stiner Octagon House
The Armour-Stiner (Octagon) House is one of the most visually unique homes in the world. It is the only known, fully domed octagonal residence and the only house which replicates Donato Bramante’s 1502 Tempietto in Rome. The elegantly proportioned Tempietto was built in the form of a Tholos, an ancient classical temple, which complemented America’s third quarter of the 19th-century fascination with classical forms.
