We're so excited to celebrate with you!

Alex and Ryan met shortly before the Fourth of July holiday in 2017 here in Atlanta. In fact, they met about a mile from where they ended up buying a house together just two and half years later. The couple was out separately with friends, enjoying the holiday weekend and ended up at a restaurant (Ryan insists its a restaurant) and bar called Ormsby's. Alex and her friends sat down at a table with one of Ryan's friends. Next thing he knew, he had lost the table he was left to hold on to for the other guys and there were 6 ladies who had joined him. Shortly, Ryan and the other guys came back to the table to join their friend. That's when Ryan first saw Alex. He says to this day her eyes are what caught his attention. He ended up passing Alex his phone number on a receipt he had in his pocket. In true Alex fashion, she boldly texted him that night. Next thing you know, they were wrapped up in a conversation- just the two of them- competitively playing trivia crack on Ryan's phone as if no one else was around. The fun, flirting, and (usually) friendly competition never stopped!

For Alex's 32nd birthday Ryan surprised her with a trip to Aruba to celebrate New Years. Alex had just purchased her law firm from her long time mentor and the couple was coming off of what was an otherwise unusual, and quite busy, year. A vacation was much needed! Once the couple landed in Aruba, they immediately tossed their luggage in the room and went down to the beach. If you ask Alex, Ryan had been on edge since they landed, but she wrote it off to his cell phone not working internationally. Ryan had forgotten to activate his international plan and it was a bit of a mess. Once down on the beach, the couple explored the area. After about twenty minutes it started to sprinkle rain and Ryan abruptly stopped walking and grabbed Alex's hand. He told her he needed to ask a question that he probably should have asked a long time ago, dropped down to one knee, pulled a ring box out of who knows where (Alex still wonders how he kept it hidden in his swim trunks), and asked her to marry him. Of course she said yes! Alex and Ryan rang in the New Year in Aruba and celebrated their engagement for another four days on the island.
