We met through mutual friends in the fall of 2020 at a group dinner, but we were at opposite ends of the table. Fast forward through a few group happy hours to March 2021 at a dinner for our friend's birthday. We ended up sitting next to each other by chance and talked the whole night. A few weeks later, Kyle saw Emily on a dating app and decided to shoot his shot. We started talking and never stopped! Our first date was April 10, 2021 and from then on we were inseparable!

It was little Lincoln's 9th birthday and we had Emily's family over to our home for his birthday celebration. Kyle asked Lincoln's permission to propose at the end of the night so it was a surprise. All three of Kyle's kids were in on the surprise the whole day and never let on! Right before we cut into the birthday cake, Emily went to grab plates and turned around and Kyle was down on one knee in front of everyone! One of Emily's favorite parts was the excitement from her Mom, sister and nieces because they had no idea it was happening that night! It was the perfect proposal that included our most important people. The icing on top is that Kyle asked for Barb's blessing prior to proposing!
