Both Sean and Kara were out with a group of friends, and Kara's friend group went to meet up with Sean's because of a mutual friend between them (shout out to Riley Sipes!). The place they met was Tin Roof on Demonbreun! As soon as Kara walked through the door, it was all over for Sean... "I HAD to talk to her". Sean leaned over to Alex Gibson and pointed Kara out as if he was Babe Ruth calling his shot. Sean walked over, joined the conversation, and introduced himself. Kara and Sean talked for a few minutes. Sean walked away to sit back down with his friends, but couldn't stop thinking about Kara. Sean mustered up courage for a few minutes and then went back up to her and said "If it's okay with you, I'd like to buy you your next drink?". She of course said yes and he bought her a Corona with lime. The rest of the night they talked, laughed, and danced! They bonded over hiking, country music, and steak and potatoes (both of their favorite meals). Kara knew that night she was going to marry Sean. When it was time to leave, Kara was so scared Sean wasn't going to text her the next day. She had developed feelings for him so she kept reminding him to text her (he did, obviously)! Little did Kara know, when Sean got home he could not stop talking about her. It was one of the best nights of their lives and they scheduled their first date that following weekend. Sean left a lake trip with friends early for the first date at Sperry's.
Sean went all out for their first date. He made reservations at a very nice steak restaurant (Sperry's in Bellevue) and brought Kara a bouquet of flowers. Kara refused to let him pick her up because she didn't know if he was a weirdo yet so she didn't want him knowing where she lived. Sean was okay with that as he was still driving a beat up Chrysler Sebring with one headlight out. That night, Kara laid it all out. She was extremely forward about what she was looking for in a man, that she was looking to date for marriage, and all her non-negotiables for a partner. Sean was surprised, yet impressed with her forwardness. Luckily, they were on the same page on just about everything. That was the night Sean knew he was going to marry Kara.
Sean and Kara went on a weekend trip with their friends to the North Georgia mountains. Sean had been planning this for months and Kara knew about it for months. They were planning on having a day out and about at all the different wineries. They got an early start and left for the first winery around 11:30. There was no one at the winery, Ott Farms and Vineyards, when they got there (they let them in 30 minutes before opening so Sean could propose before a bunch of people showed up). Everyone was taking pictures with each other out back with the gorgeous mountains and vineyard as the back drop. Most of the group went inside to get drinks while Olivia and Kenzie kept Sean and Kara outside to take a few pictures. When they turned around to walk inside, Sean grabbed Kara's hand and lead her to the covered awning. There he got down on one knee and proposed! Kara said "Yes!" then everyone ran out and hugged them! Later that day, Sean surprised Kara with having his and her family join them to celebrate the day! It made that day so perfect! They went to another winery and then back to the house where their friends had set up a surprise engagement party for them. They had a cook out, ate cake, and drank champagne. It was the best day ever!
