Sherin's Version: I made a Hinge after being convinced by a friend. I expected nothing to come out of it and even had my notifications turned off. That is until I met Sean. His first message to me was “you have a really pretty smile” and all I could think was “that’s so weird.” Still, there was something about him that made me want to keep talking to him. After countless dates and FaceTime calls, he asked me to be his girlfriend. Needless to say I was convinced and finally said yes :) Sean's Version: I first joined a dating app with no real expectations. I matched with Sherin even though she didn't like when I complimented her smile. Our first date was at an Italian restaurant while we were being both busy with school and I knew something was different about her. After that we went on many dates, had long Facetime calls, had study sessions over the phone, and got to know each other. Despite her initially being stubborn, she said yes and the rest is history.

We had a 2 week trip to Portugal and Spain planned in May 2023. On our last full day in Porto, Portugal, we spent the day exploring the area by the Douro River. Sean mentioned that he wanted to come back at night to have dinner and wanted them both to look nice. It was a clear, beautiful day until the afternoon when there was prediction of rain. While we were getting ready for dinner, there was a slight drizzle and Sean was getting worried it would ruin the surprise. We eventually made it to the proposal spot with a slight drizzle and Sherin spotted the photographer right away. Sean proposed, Sherin cried, and the rain cleared up for a beautiful photo shoot afterwards.
