Sean and Sae Hee first met on the streets. Well, the streets winding through their beautiful university campus, that is. While walking to chapel, Sae Hee's classmate beside her called ahead to Sean to get his attention. As this classmate began asking Sean about his progress on their laboratory homework, Sae Hee realized they were talking about the same assignment she had been stuck on too. With a phone suddenly placed in his hand, Sean heard: "Hey! I'm Sae Hee! I could use some help with that chemistry assignment too. Can I get your number?" With a laugh, Sean readily agreed. And with that, they began getting to know each other!

It's not easy planning a surprise for someone when you're always with them. It's even more difficult when you're Sean, the type of person who loves sharing surprises right away! Well, Sean and Sae Hee struck up a plan for how they could still set up the perfect surprise proposal: 5 dates. 5 special occasions that would all be contenders for the special moment. Hair, outfit, nails- they would all have to be ready for each one. But which one would it be? Was it the photoshoot at Houston's famous Water Wall? The Baylor campus scavenger hunt? What about the recreation of their first date at 1102, one of Waco's first boba shops? Wait, it must be the dinner date at Rainbow Lodge, a Houston staple when it comes to proposals. Or maybe... the glamping getaway? Some argue the answer was obvious; but to the one it mattered to the most, it would end up being a surprise up until the final moment. As the Water Wall date passed by, Sean and Sae Hee made their way to Waco for a trip down memory lane. At this point, some secrets had been leaked (Sean couldn't help it). But Sae Hee now knew that whenever the proposal was, Sean had said their sisters would definitely be there. Luckily for Sean, he used this information leak to his advantage. Sae Hee’s sister, Yoon Hee, a fellow Baylor alumna, “couldn’t make it” because of “work” and was “staying back to dog sit.” Sean’s sister, Jessica, was “busy” as well. With suspicion low, Sae Hee didn’t think much of it. Meanwhile, fate played its part: Sae Hee’s dad happened to be in Waco for flight testing with his job. After a fun evening and next morning spent together with Sae Hee's dad, Sean and Sae Hee geared up for their Baylor scavenger hunt. Behind the scenes, Sean’s friend Sam carefully placed the scavenger hunt clues at meaningful spots on campus. Meanwhile, Yoon Hee and Jessica secretly drove to Waco, bringing along Taeyang, Sean and Sae Hee’s beloved maltipoo. And to top it off, their friend Kathrine made the journey all the way from out of state to help set up a surprise engagement party. As the sun dipped lower in the sky, Sean and Sae Hee followed the scavenger hunt clues, solving each one and moving from one special location to the next. At the final stop, Sae Hee was greeted with a bouquet of flowers. When she turned around, she found Sean beaming. After a heartfelt speech, Sean revealed one last surprise. He called out for their dog, Taeyang. To Sae Hee’s astonishment, Taeyang bounded around the corner, wearing a tiny bow tie and carrying a special message on his tag: “Will you marry my dad?” As Sae Hee read the words, she looked up to find Sean down on one knee. The photos will show Sean initially opened the ring box upside down, but with a quick fix and the big question asked, Sae Hee gave an enthusiastic, “Yes!” It was official—Sean and Sae Hee were engaged!
