Garden Party/Semi-Formal: dresses/skirts, jumpsuits, sundresses, floral prints, suits, jackets and slacks
Yes, we would love for you to bring your little ones! We just kindly ask that you have a plan for watching them and keep in mind that the venue is on the smaller/quaint side with only two restrooms.
Yes! There is a nearby school parking lot (Hayt elementary) that has 48 parking spots, reserved by the venue for wedding guests (Please see the 'Travel' tab for information on where to park at the school). It is just a couple minute walk from the venue. There is also street parking if you are able to find a spot.
Driving (safely) is an option and there are dedicated parking spots in a nearby lot (see above) as well as street parking. If you'd prefer not to drive, Uber/Lyft/rideshare options are abundant. If you are staying at the Claridge House, the CTA is a viable option as well! The red line Clark & Division stop is right around the corner - you can take this north to the Granville or Loyola stop, and then the venue is either a super quick Uber away, or a 15-20 minute walk.
Generally, temperatures are mild and pleasant with high's in the upper 60s-low 70s. That said, spring can be rainy/stormy, so you never know. The venue does have contingency plans for the rain (tents/coverings). Might be a good idea to keep an eye on the forecast as the day approaches in case a light outer layer or umbrella might behoove you!
Saturday: Claridge House wine hour which is free for hotel guests! There is also a hotel bar. See 'Schedule' tab for times. Sunday: wedding after party at Whiskey Girl Tavern (just a few minutes walk from the venue). Other ideas for things to do in the city: -Architecture boat tour -The Second City (walkable from Claridge House) -Cubs game -Lincoln Park - zoo, conservatory, etc. (walkable from Claridge House) -Beach (there are many; Oak St. beach is walkable from Claridge House)
