Question

When should we RSVP?

Answer

Please RSVP by July 31st, 2024.

Question

How do we get to Shelter Island?

Answer

The closest airport to Shelter Island is MacArthur Islip but it is very small so JFK or LaGuardia will have better flight options. Renting a car to drive to the island will be the easiest but you can also take the Long Island Rail Road or the Hampton Jitney to Greenport. In Greenport you will take the ferry onto Shelter Island, which can be done in a vehicle or on foot. Once on island there is the Shelter Island Taxi Service. It has only a few cars so please be patient (631)-210-6677

Question

What are the accommodations?

Answer

Unless we contact you directly about lodging, you are responsible for your own room reservations. Under our travel tab you will find some suggestions on places to stay.

Question

Is there an event Friday August 23rd?

Answer

There will be a small rehearsal Friday evening for immediate family, then we want to get the party started with drinks and dancing at Sunset Beach! If you arrive in time to treat yourself to dinner on the island we suggest Leon, Vine Street, The Chequit or The Pridwin.

Question

Can I bring a date and/or my child(ren)?

Answer

Your invite was addressed to the person or people included on the guest list. Please refer to this for who is invited.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Weather permitting the majority of our day will be spent outside, so our biggest wish is for you to be comfortable. The requested dress code is garden party chic! This semi-formal suggestion includes lots of florals, fun patterns, light, bright colors and fabrics such as linen and seersucker. Men can incorporate blazers with khakis, Nantucket reds or chinos. Ladies anything ethereal, airy and outdoorsy! Don't be afraid to wear a dress hat or derby hat. Shoes should be able to walk on grass and uneven surfaces.

Question

Is there a grocery store on the island?

Answer

If you need supplies during your stay there is the IGA grocery store. Smaller items can be found at The Pharmacy (also has a fantastic breakfast) or Bliss’s in the center of town.

Question
