When should I reserve accommodations?

Since Estes Park is right outside Rocky Mountain National Park, the town is extremely busy during the summer. All lodging locations typically sell-out in the summer so reserve your place to stay as soon as you can!

Sean and Madeleine LOVE kids, however for this night we are going to stick to children from the family only!

What is the altitude in Estes Park? How will it affect me?

Answer

Estes Park is 7,522 feet above sea level (about 1.5 miles). Higher altitude means a thinner atmosphere and more intense sunlight as well as less oxygen. When you first arrive in Colorado be sure to drink lots of water to avoid altitude sickness. As you drive up to the mountains drink at least one bottle of water throughout your drive. Alcohol may also affect you more quickly and/or heavily at altitude so make sure you don't overdue it when you first arrive!
