Kathryn and Sean first met in 2020 in Newport Beach, CA, when Kathryn was visiting some friends for the 4th of July. Little did they know that they'd be in each other's lives forever. Sean made his move after Kathryn officially moved down to Southern California in October 2020. They went on a few dates and had a blast, but Kathryn had just moved to California and wasn't looking for anything serious, so Sean was put in the "friendzone." After about a year and a half of remaining friends, Kathryn realized that she had made a serious mistake and that she totally had a crush on Sean. She reached out and asked him if he wanted to get dinner and catch up...and the rest, as they say, is history! They made it official on October 8, 2022, when Sean asked Kathryn to be his girlfriend at a restaurant in Palm Springs. In two years of dating, they've taken road trips back to Oregon to see their families, traveled to Europe with friends, cooked many meals together (mostly Sean on that one hehe), played lots of pickleball, and fallen more and more in love with each other. On Saturday, September 28, 2024, Sean planned a date day where they went to the Long Beach aquarium and were going to end the night watching the sunset at the beach. When they arrived at the beach, there was a beautiful picnic set up, complete with flowers, candles, and champagne. The next thing Kathryn knew, Sean was getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him. It was the perfect day, and they were able to celebrate with some of their dearest friends afterwards. They are so incredibly thankful that the Lord (and Cade Christensen) brought them together and cannot wait to get married!
